BOSTON – Jen MacLean, the former CEO of now-defunct 38 Studios LLC, has been tapped as the head of business development for Cambridge, Mass.-based startup Ovuline, reported Boston.com.

MacLean, who was on maternity leave when 38 Studios defaulted on its $75 million loan guarantee, will start at Ovuline next week, according to the news source.

Ovuline is focused on helping couples get pregnant and have healthy babies. The six-person company is building mobile apps and a website to help women better understand their fertility cycles. The company announced earlier this month that it recently raised $1.4 million from investors.

MacLean served as an adviser to Ovuline last fall while the company went through the TechStars Boston startup accelerator program.

MacClean and her husband Michael Dawe, who also worked at 38 Studios, moved from Providence to the Boston suburbs after the company’s very public collapse, said Boston.com.
