Former Ava Anderson controller charged with theft

WARREN – The former controller for Ava Anderson Non Toxic last week was charged with felony embezzlement.

Robert Anderson, 59, of North Providence, is free on personal recognizance after appearing in Sixth Division District Court. He is not related to the Anderson family that owns the natural-products company,

Police said Anderson was shipping company products to a Key West, Fla., address where it was relabeled and sold there in a store he co-owned.

Police said the value of the stolen items was more than $50,000. Anderson is due to appear in Superior Court at a later date.

The company recently hired Nick Milligan to serve as chief financial officer. •
