Foster Parrots holding fundraiser

HOPKINTON – Foster Parrots, a parrot rescue organization based in Hopkinton, will hold its fifth annual fall fundraiser on Sept. 16 at its New England Exotic Wildlife Sanctuary in Hope Valley beginning at 1 p.m.

The event includes an outdoor benefit concert, vegetarian buffet dinner, and tours of the sanctuary, which houses 600 parrots of different species as well as other rescued exotic animals.

Tickets for the event are $65, which includes a champagne welcome reception and open wine and beer bar, and are available by visit the organization’s website, www.fosterparrots.com.

The organization also announced it is kicking off a New England Exotic Wildlife Sanctuary Capital Campaign, a $5 million fundraising initiative that the organization will use to develop a regional center for humane education and avian/animal care services.

Capital projects will include construction fo a full service veterinary clinic, adoption center and enclosed free-flight garden.
