Four R.I. restaurants receive AAA four diamonds ratings

PROVIDENCE – Four Rhode Island restaurants have been recognized with AAA’s four diamond designation, the organization’s second-highest rating.

Four Diamond restaurants account for 2.3 percent of the more than 30,000 AAA-approved and diamond-rated restaurants. The four Rhode Island restaurants are among 683 throughout North America and the Caribbean to receive the designation in 2016.
They are:

  • Muse, also recognized in 2012, in Newport
  • Spiced Pear, in Newport (2004)
  • Gracie’s, in Providence (2011)
  • Seasons at the Ocean House, in the Watch Hill section of Westerly (2010)

Recipients will be recognized at a luncheon in March.
“Contemporary restaurant enthusiasts are more educated than ever about food trends, preparation techniques and ingredient sourcing,” said David J. Raposa, AAA Northeast Managing Director of Public Affairs. “This raises the bar for today’s top chefs who attempt to achieve perfection with each offering. These top-rated restaurants meet that challenge and give their guests a memorable dining experience.”
AAA’s inspectors use guidelines to conduct unannounced hotel and restaurant evaluations, assigning approved establishments a rating of one to five AAA diamonds, five being the best.
