PROVIDENCE – Lifespan, Women & Infants Hospital, and the R.I. Department of Health Women’s Cancer Screening Program are collaborating to offer free cervical and breast cancer screening, same-day results, and access to follow-up care for local women in need.
The free tests will be provided on Saturday, May 9, at The Comprehensive Cancer Center at Rhode Island Hospital, with registration open from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. only.
Each year, approximately 12,000 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer around the country. When breast cancer is diagnosed in its earliest stages, the five-year survival rate is 98 percent.
