PROVIDENCE – It is the last day for the state’s more than 320 lobbyists to file their first lobbying reports of the year with Secretary of State A. Ralph Mollis’ office.

State law requires any legislative lobbyist who represents clients before the General Assembly to disclose lobbying expenses, any legislation that is being followed and campaign contributions for the period. Lobbyists’ firms and clients must also file reports.

Required parties have until 11:59 p.m. Friday to submit their reports.

Information about lobbyists, their issues, employers and compensation is available to Rhode Island residents on the Secretary of State’s website at sos.ri.gov immediately after posting.

“Using technology to make government more transparent is one of my priorities. You can find reports covering hundreds of lobbyists, lobbying firms and companies 24/7,” said Mollis in prepared remarks.
