Frishman new president of gynecology group

PROVIDENCE – Dr. Gary N. Frishman, a reproductive endocrinologist at Women & Infants Hospital, recently began serving as president of the national Council of Gynecologic Endoscopy, a group with more than 6,000 members worldwide.
The council is tasked with recognizing gynecologic surgeons and surgical centers able to provide outstanding care to women. The council is part of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, which was established in 1971 to advance minimally invasive gynecology in the United States.
Frishman is also actively involved with the hospital’s resident and medical-student education and research and is a professor of obstetrics and gynecology at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He was named a top doctor in U.S. News & World Report, and has been similarly recognized by Rhode Island Monthly Magazine. •
