Fundraising professionals honors Gregg’s

CRANSTON – The Rhode Island chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals presented Gregg’s Restaurants & Pubs with the Award for Outstanding Philanthropic Corporation at the National Philanthropy Day Breakfast & Award Ceremony on Nov. 26 at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet. Gregg’s was recognized for its philanthropic contributions to the Rhode Island community at the organization’s annual celebration of philanthropy.
Gregg’s Restaurants & Pubs has supported Rhode Islanders in need for several decades. Its efforts include the Gregg’s Giving Tree, which brings holiday joy to more than 2,000 children, teens and seniors each year. Gregg’s also donates a portion of the sales from some of their cakes to Hasbro Children’s Hospital and the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation.
Throughout the year, Gregg’s can be found supporting numerous fundraising events to benefit local non-profits.
Re-Focus, a local non-profit human service agency which serves adults with differing physical and developmental needs, nominated Gregg’s for the award. The clients of Re-Focus have been the recipients of gifts from the Gregg’s Giving Tree for 13 years. Last year more than 40 Re-Focus clients benefited from the Gregg’s Giving Tree program, bringing much-needed holiday joy to their lives.
Since 1987, the association chapter has honored outstanding philanthropic contributions of corporations, small businesses, individuals and groups. The main organization represents 30,000 members in 229 chapters throughout the world, working to advance philanthropy through advocacy, research, education and certification programs.
