Fundraising walk for pancreatic cancer research set

WARWICK – The local affiliate of the national organization dedicated to eliminating the fourth leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States has announced the day and location of its annual fundraising event.

PurpleStride Rhode Island 2012, a 5K walk through Goddard Memorial Park, is one of 50 such events throughout the country to benefit the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. Sponsored by the Rhode Island affiliate of the network, PurpleStride Rhode Island will take place at 10 a.m. on Sunday May 6. In addition to the walk, there will be a raffle, DJ and other festivities for the entire family.
