PROVIDENCE – GTECH S.p.A. and Sony Pictures Consumer Products announced a multi-year licensing agreement granting GTECH property licensing rights to television game shows Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!.
The agreement, announced Wednesday, will be effective as of Jan. 1 and gives GTECH the rights to develop and distribute certain Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! lottery games throughout the world. In addition to instant-scratch tickets and draw-based games, GTECH will develop second-chance promotions and other interactive experiences for lottery customers.
Wheel of Fortune has been the Number 1 syndicated game show with more than 26 million viewers per week.
Jeopardy! began its 31st season Sept. 15, attracting more than 9 million viewers daily. It holds the Guinness World Records title for the most Emmy Awards won by a television game show (31), including the 2014 Emmy for Outstanding Game Show.

In 2013, GTECH had approximately 8,600 employees with operations in approximately 100 countries. It employs more than 1,000 in Rhode Island.
