PROVIDENCE – GTECH Corp. Wednesday celebrated the opening of a $15,000 computer lab at Manton Heights in Providence. The new computer lab is the 200th lab to be opened through GTECH’s “After School Advantage” program and the 27th to be established in Providence through GTECH’s tax stabilization agreement.
The dedication ceremony included a tour of the facility, which features eight Dell computers, a printer, educational software, desk lamps and chairs. Mayor Angel Taveras joined GTECH executives at the ceremony.
GTECH’s After School Advantage program is an initiative that donates computers and other necessary educational supplies to non-profit organizations that support after school programs, to promote educational opportunities for local children.
