GTECH promotes Simonson to senior VP

PROVIDENCE – GTECH Corp. has promoted Timothy Simonson to the position of senior vice president of business development for the Americas.

Simonson, who will report directly to President and CEO Jaymin B. Patel, will be responsible for the lottery operator and private manager opportunities in the Americas region.

Simonson will also be responsible for further developing business relationships with both current and prospective clients in North America and Brazil to “offer opportunities across the company’s entire product portfolio – lottery, gaming machines, sports better and interactive,” said a company release.

“We see several opportunities for growth and expansion in the North American and Brazilian regulated gaming markets,” Patel said in prepared remarks. “With Tim’s experience in strategic analysis and business development, I am confident he will provide the leadership needed to guide the development of lottery private management opportunities, as well as developing strategies to pursue new lottery and gaming opportunities in these regions, as appropriate.”

Simonson joined GTECH in 2003 and has help position of increasing responsibility over the last decade. Most recently, he served as regional vice president supporting GTECH’s customers in the Western and Midwestern United States.
