GTECH signs seven-year deal with Tennessee lottery

PROVIDENCE – GTECH Corp. has signed a seven-year instant-ticket lottery gaming system and services contract with the Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation, the Providence gaming-tech company announced last week.
The contract, which followed a competitive procurement process, gives the Tennessee lottery the option to renew for up to seven additional years, and GTECH expects to receive approximately $130 million in revenue under the agreement.
“The Tennessee Education Lottery is one of the most respected lotteries in the industry, with 10 consecutive years of record-setting sales growth,” said GTECH Americas President and CEO Jaymin B. Patel. “We are dedicated to the Tennessee Lottery Corporation’s continued growth and long-term vision, and we are equally committed to the lottery’s players, its beneficiaries, the businesses that sell lottery products and the citizens of Tennessee.”
GTECH first partnered with the Tennessee lottery when it first began selling tickets in 2004. Since then, the Tennessee lottery has generated more than $3 billion for Tennessee’s Hope Scholarships, college grants, pre-kindergarten and after school programs, and other education-related programs for students and families in the state.
Under the contract, GTECH will provide a new, integrated instant-ticket lottery gaming system based on GTECH’s Enterprise Series products and designed to support a minimum of 5,500 full-service drawing-style retailer terminals.
GTECH will also install its Altura GT1200 terminals with 15-inch touch screens, new Gemini Ultra self-service ticket vending machines and Ticket-Scan Plus self-service ticket checkers for players, according to a GTECH release. Additionally, GTECH will provide a mobile application allowing players to check their tickets on smartphones or other mobile devices, and will also assist with new game and strategic planning research.
“Working in collaboration with GTECH as a partner has been an important component of our years of record-setting success,” said Rebecca Hargrove, president and CEO of the Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation. “They have delivered expertise and reliability to the benefit of all our stakeholders at the Tennessee lottery. Now, on the strength of their impressive submission, we are pleased to partner once again with GTECH as we head into our next decade of successful operations.”
