GTECH subsidiary to supply 1,500 terminals to Oregon

PROVIDENCE – GTECH SpA subsidiary Spielo International Canada ULC has signed a contract to supply 1,500 new Oxygen video-lottery terminals and associated software and games to the Oregon Lottery.
GTECH expects to receive total revenues of approximately $22 million from the sale in 2014.
Under the terms of the contract, GTECH will provide 1,500 of Speilo’s Oxygen video-lottery terminals, which the Oregon Lottery will use to replace 1,500 of its terminals.
The Oregon Lottery plans to retain the 2,500 Spielo prodiGi Vu terminals purchased from Spielo in 2009.
“Through this contract, GTECH is delighted to continue its relationship with the Oregon Lottery, which operates one of the most successful and forward-looking video-lottery-terminal programs in North America,” said GTECH Americas President and CEO Jaymin B. Patel in a release.
The 1,500 new Oxygen terminals represent a 60 percent increase in GTECH’s market share. Together with the 2,500 existing prodiGi Vu terminals, the 4,000 video-lottery terminals represent roughly one-third of the Oregon Lottery’s installed base of approximately 12,000 terminals.
“For almost a decade, each generation of Spielo video-lottery terminals in Oregon has continuously performed well, helping the Oregon Lottery meet its objectives of operating a video-lottery-terminal program with the highest standards of security and integrity for the benefit of Oregon residents,” said Oregon Lottery Director Larry Niswender. “We are pleased to continue this relationship, which we believe will ensure the program’s future success and sustainability.”
