PROVIDENCE – Gasoline prices climbed 2 cents in Rhode Island and 3 cents in Massachusetts this week, AAA Northeast said Monday.
Self-serve, regular unleaded gasoline is averaging $2.25 per gallon in the Ocean State, matching the national average. A year ago at this time, the average price in Rhode Island was 19 cents lower at $2.06.
Prices for unleaded range from $2.15 to $2.34, with midgrade unleaded at $2.50; premium unleaded at $2.70; and diesel, $2.54.
Self-serve, regular unleaded is averaging $2.21 per gallon in Massachusetts, which is 4 cents below the national average for regular unleaded. A year ago at this time, the average price in Massachusetts was $2.01.
Prices for unleaded regular in the Bay State range from $2.07 to $2.69, with midgrade unleaded at $2.43; premium unleaded at $2.60; and diesel, $2.50.
