Gas prices drop again, fall 2 cents in R.I., 1 cent in Mass.

PROVIDENCE – For the fourth week in a row, gasoline prices fell in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, AAA Northeast said Monday.

Gasoline prices fell 2 cents in Rhode Island and 1 cent in Massachusetts this week, AAA Northeast said.

In Rhode Island, self-serve, regular unleaded is averaging $2.24 per gallon, which is 4 cents below the national average. A year ago at this time, the average price in Rhode Island was 41 cents lower at $1.83.

Unleaded regular prices range from $2.15 to $2.41, with midgrade unleaded at $2.51; premium unleaded, $2.70; and diesel, $2.54.

In Massachusetts, self-serve, regular unleaded is averaging $2.20 per gallon. A year ago at this time, the average price in Massachusetts was 42 cents lower at $1.78.

Prices for unleaded regular in the Bay State range from $2.07 to $2.39, with other grades as follows, midgrade unleaded, $2.45; premium unleaded, $2.61; and diesel, $2.54.
