PROVIDENCE – After two weeks of increases, gasoline prices in Rhode Island fell a cent this week, AAA Northeast said Monday.
Self-serve, regular unleaded is averaging $2.23 per gallon, matching the national average. A year ago at this time, the average price in Rhode Island was 43 cents higher at $2.66.
Prices in the Ocean State range between $2.09 and $2.49, with midgrade unleaded averaging $2.50; premium unleaded, $2.66; and diesel, $2.30.
In Massachusetts, prices fell 2 cents, the first decline in 10 weeks, to $2.18 per gallon.
The Massachusetts price is 5 cents below the national average. A year ago, the average price in Massachusetts was 46 cents higher at $2.64.
Prices in the Bay State range from $1.99 to $2.63, with midgrade unleaded at $2.41; premium unleaded, $2.58; and diesel, $2.26.
