Gas prices jump again in R.I., Mass.

PROVIDENCE – For the fifth week in a row, gasoline prices have increased in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, according to AAA Northeast.
Gasoline prices rose 8 cents each in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts, bringing the cost of regular, self-serve, unleaded gasoline to $2.46 per gallon in both states.

In the Ocean State, prices are 26 cents higher than a month ago, and the current price matches the national average for regular unleaded. A year ago, Rhode Island’s average price was $1.12 higher at $3.58.
Prices in Rhode Island range from $2.17 to $2.59. Prices for other grades of gasoline are as follows: $2.68 for midgrade unleaded; $2.80 for premium unleaded and $3.24 for diesel.
In Massachusetts, prices of self-serve, regular unleaded gasoline are 28 cents higher than a month ago. A year ago, the Massachusetts average price was $1.07 higher at $3.53.
Prices in the Bay State range from $2.29 to $2.55. Prices for other grades of gasoline are as follows: $2.63 for midgrade unleaded; $2.77 for premium unleaded; and $3.27 for diesel.
