Gas prices rise in R.I., fall in Mass.

PROVIDENCE – Gasoline prices rose 1 cent in Rhode Island, and fell 1 cent in Massachusetts, AAA Northeast said Monday.
Self-serve, regular unleaded is averaging $2.26 per gallon in the Ocean State, which is 3 cents higher than the national average of $2.23. A year ago at this time, the average price in Rhode Island was 8 cents lower at $2.18.
Prices in Rhode Island range from $2.12 to $2.39, with midgrade unleaded at $2.52; premium unleaded at $2.72; and diesel, $2.51.
Self-serve, regular unleaded gasoline prices in Massachusetts fell 1 cent to $2.14 per gallon, which is 9 cents below the national average. A year ago at this time, the average price in Massachusetts was 4 cents lower at $2.10.
Prices in the Bay State range from $2.03 to $2.34, with midgrade unleaded at $2.40; premium unleaded at $2.56; and diesel, $2.42.
