Gas prices rise in R.I., fall in Mass.

PROVIDENCE – Gasoline prices climbed 2 cents in Rhode Island and fell 2 cents in Massachusetts this week, according to AAA Northeast.
In Rhode Island, self-serve, regular unleaded is averaging $2.21 per gallon, which is 7 cents higher than the national average of $2.14. A year ago at this time, the average price in Rhode Island was $2.15.
Self-serve, regular prices in the Ocean State range from $2.05 to $2.39, with midgrade unleaded at $2.46; premium unleaded at $2.69; and diesel, $2.45.
In Massachusetts, prices decreased to $2.07 per gallon for self-serve, regular, which is 7 cents lower than the national average, but unchanged from a year ago at this time.
Self-serve, regular prices in the Bay State range from $1.97 to $2.29, with midgrade unleaded at $2.35; premium unleaded at $2.52; and diesel, $2.40.
