PROVIDENCE – Gasoline prices stayed the same in Rhode Island this week, but inched up 1 cent in Massachusetts, AAA Northeast said Monday.
AAA’s Oct. 24 survey of prices in Rhode Island said self-serve, regular unleaded is averaging $2.25 per gallon, which is 2 cents higher than the national average for regular unleaded of $2.23. A year ago at this time, the average price in Rhode Island was seven cents lower at $2.18.
Prices for unleaded regular range from $2.15 to $2.39, with midgrade unleaded at $2.55; premium unleaded at $2.74; and diesel, $2.52.
In Massachusetts, self-serve, regular unleaded rose to an average of $2.15 per gallon, which is 8 cents below the national average for regular unleaded. A year ago at this time, the average price in Massachusetts was 7 cents lower at $2.08.
Prices in the Bay State range from $2.03 to $2.39, with midgrade unleaded at $2.38; premium unleaded at $2.57; and diesel, $2.43.
