Prices for self-serve, regular unleaded gasoline fell 3 cents in Rhode Island and 2 cents in Massachusetts this week, AAA Northeast said Monday.
In the Ocean State, self-serve, regular unleaded gas is averaging $2.25 per gallon, which is 1 cent above the national average. A year ago at this time, Rhode Island’s average gasoline price was 51 cents higher at $2.76.
Prices in Rhode Island range from $2.15 to $2.60, with midgrade unleaded averaging $2.47; premium unleaded, $2.66; and diesel, $2.37.
In the Bay State, self-serve, regular unleaded gas is averaging $2.20 per gallon, which is 4 cents below the national average. Last year, the average gasoline price in Massachusetts was 53 cents higher at $2.73.
Prices in Massachusetts range from $2.07 to $2.49, with midgrade unleaded at $2.46; premium unleaded, $2.66; and diesel, $2.39.
