Gateway Healthcare honors Community Champions at annual awards luncheon

PROVIDENCE – Gateway Healthcare, a community behavioral health care provider, honored individuals and organizations demonstrating a commitment to their community at its annual awards breakfast, held this year on May 2. Bristol Rotary Charities Foundation, Shriners of Rhode Island Charities Trust, Chris Martinez of Procter & Gamble and Dr. Otis Warren of the University Emergency Medical Foundation were among the honorees. These individuals and organizations supported health care initiatives ranging from serving families who live with autism, adolescent girls with behavioral health issues and individuals living with alcohol and drug dependencies, among others.

The keynote speaker at the luncheon, which was held at the Providence Marriott, was Cheryl Sharp, a senior adviser for Trauma Informed Services. Sharp, a trauma survivor, has worked with adult trauma survivors for more than 28 years, and trains and speaks across the country on the issue.
