Gerald Sonnenfeld has been named vice president for research and economic development at the University of Rhode Island, where he will lead the Division of Research and Economic Development. Previously, he served as the vice president of the Clemson University School of Health Research. He holds a postdoctoral degree in infectious diseases and immunology from Stanford University School of Medicine. •
