Glassdoor: Raleigh, N.C. better bet for a job than Providence

PROVIDENCE – Looking for a job? Raleigh, N.C. is a better bet than Providence, according to a Glassdoor survey of the best cities to find a job.
“Thinking about moving to a new city for a job? Turns out, all cities are not created equal for jobs,” Glassdoor stated on its blog.
Raleigh came in first for more than 24,000 job openings and a median base salary of $50,950. The job satisfaction rating is 3.3.
In comparison, Providence ranked 48th out of the 50 most populated cities included, although it performed better on the rank of job satisfaction, coming in at No. 36.
Glassdoor rated cities on how easy it is to get a job there, how affordable it to live there and how satisfied employees are working there. Details on the number of job openings and median base salary were only provided for the top 25 cities.
The rest of the top five cities for jobs are: Kansas City, Mo.; Oklahoma City; Austin, Texas; and Seattle.
Boston was the only New England city to crack the top 20, coming in at No. 15 with 86,565 job openings, a median base salary of $56,000 and a job satisfaction rating of 3.4.
Hartford ranked 31st on the best cities list, but jumped to 16th for hiring opportunity.
