New England Patriots placekicker Stephen Gostkowski recently paid a visit to young fans at Hasbro Children’s Hospital to kickoff his Kick 4 Kids fundraiser.
The NFL star will match up to $10,000 worth of donations to the hospital during the campaign, which will run through Dec. 31.
During Gostkowski’s visit to the fourth and fifth floor of the hospital, he met with a handful of fans, including 14 year-old Gian Dimanna, of Smithfield, who was able to beguile Gostkowski with a sleight of hand.
Dimanna performed one of the card tricks he was working to master. After managing to draw Gostkowski’s card from the top of the deck, the Patriots player was impressed and Dimanna was happy to have “wowed” a celebrity.
Donations to the Kick 4 Kids Challenge can be made online. Participants who make donations of $100 will receive a signed T-shirt and donations of $500 will include an autographed photo of Gostkowski; $1,000 donations will include a signed football. •
