PROVIDENCE – Five Hasbro Children’s Hospital employees were recently honored as Brite Lites for 2014. The 12-year-old program recognizes hospital employees for exemplary care provided to patients.
The celebration of the awards is always held during the week of Valentine’s Day to mark the official opening of Hasbro Children’s Hospital on February 14, 1994.
The Brite Lites recipients for 2014 were: Suany Almonte of Warwick, Sandra Burnock of Pawtucket, Monica Hanley of Barrington, Dr. Jeffrey Riese of East Greenwich, and Ariel Twomey of Uxbridge, MA.
Through the Brite Lites program, patients and family members write a nomination letter for a staff member who has taken extra special care of a patient or a family. The nomination letters are shared during a special ceremony that includes many of the patients and families who submitted the nominations.
