Hasbro named one of most ethical companies for fourth year in a row

PAWTUCKET – For the fourth year in a row, Hasbro Inc. has been recognized by the Ethisphere Institute as one of the world’s most ethical companies.
Ethisphere Institute, which defines and advances the standards of ethical business practices, released its list of the “2015 World’s Most Ethical Companies” this week. Hasbro was recognized in the toys and games category.
“Earning this recognition involves the collective action of a global workforce from the top down. We congratulate everyone at Hasbro for this extraordinary achievement,” Ethisphere’s CEO Timothy Erblich said in a statement.
The designation recognizes organizations that have had an effect on the way business is conducted by fostering a culture of ethics and transparency at every level of the company.
Ethispere said it scores businesses based on five categories: ethics and compliance program (35 percent), corporate citizenship and responsibility (20 percent), culture of ethics (20 percent), governance (15 percent) and leadership, innovation and reputation (10 percent).
“At Hasbro, we measure our success not only by the results, but also by how we achieve those results,” Brian Goldner, president and CEO, said in a statement. “Hasbro is deeply committed to corporate social responsibility and operating with integrity, and we are honored to be ranked amongst the World’s Most Ethical Companies. We know that earning this recognition is not the end of our journey but rather a milestone along the way.”
Other companies with a local presence were recognized, including Schneider Electric in the diversified machinery category, National Grid in energy and utilities, CBRE Group Inc. in real estate, Petco Animal Supplies Inc. in retail, Starbucks Coffee Co. in specialty eateries, T-Mobile US Inc. in telecommunications services and United Parcel Services in transportation services.
This is the ninth year that Ethisphere has done the study.
