Healthcentric Advisors awarded $4.5M federal contract

PROVIDENCE – Healthcentric Advisors recently was awarded $4.5 million from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to serve as the “transforming clinical practice initiative” contractor for New England.
The new funding was awarded under Healthcentric Advisors’ New England Quality Innovation Network-Quality Improvement Organization (QIN-QIO) five-year master contract, according to a news release.
The funding will allow Healthcentric Advisors, a nonprofit health care quality improvement agency providing consulting, research and education services, to support Practice Transformation Network programs in New England.
Healthcentric Advisors, with support from subcontractor Qualidigm, will collaborate and team with PTNs to perform practice assessments and assist practices and clinicians with TCPI/PTN goals.
The overall goal, according to a news release, “is to drive practice transformation by implementing quality improvement strategies among primary care and specialty care practices.”
In addition, Healthcentric Advisors will work directly with 343 practices in the six New England states.
“Healthcentric Advisors brings 20 years’ experience working with practices to improve the quality and efficiency of care. The TCPI award further builds upon the work taking place under the QIN-QIO contract, allowing us to share efficiencies and expertise with the PTN contractors,” H. John Keimig, president and CEO of Healthcentric Advisors, said in a statement. “We look forward to building lasting relationships with the PTN contractors as we support their efforts.”
Five PTN Contracts were awarded in New England:

  • Community Health Center Association of Connecticut (Connecticut)
  • Maine Quality Counts (Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont)
  • Rhode Island Quality Institute (Rhode Island)
  • University of Massachusetts Medical School (Connecticut and Massachusetts)
  • VHA/UHC Alliance NewCo, Inc. (Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island)
