In recognition of the importance of workplace health and wellness and its effect on employee engagement, productivity and business competitiveness, Providence Business News is inaugurating a new program in 2012, titled Healthiest Employers.
Based on company responses to a 75-question survey that will be benchmarked against a national database, the program is designed to highlight workplace health and wellness programs across five categories based on company size, with finalists to be honored at a Healthiest Employers Awards Breakfast in late April.
The assessment is divided into six categories: culture and leadership commitment; foundational components; strategic planning; communications and marketing; programming and interventions; and reporting and analysis.
The application and enrollment process begins Monday, Nov. 7, and runs through Friday, March 2, 2012, and is open to any Rhode Island or Bristol County, Mass., enterprise with five or more employees. To enroll, visit the events page at PBN.com.
PBN’s partner in the venture, Healthiest Employer, is a national research firm founded by medical, academic, and health and wellness experts. Sponsoring the program is Tufts Health Plan. •
