NORTH KINGSTOWN – Hexagon Metrology has announced the released the new Brown & Sharpe TWIN-CAL IP67 calipers and an update to its ROMER Absolute Arm.
The ROMER Absolute Arm is a portable coordinate-measuring machine for both tactile and non-contact 3D measurements. The enhanced ROMER has an integrated laser scanner that scans up to 50,000 points per second, improving speed over previous versions by up to 66 percent.
Hexagon Metrology is also launching a wireless scanning option for the ROMER. Both updates are available immediately.
The TWIN-CAL digital electronic calipers were designed to be used wirelessly or with the company’s TESA Link Connector plug-and-play connectivity and can be used everywhere from a laboratory to the production floor, according to Hexagon Metrology.
The plug-and-play TLC systems allows users to send measured data from the instrument to the computer via a USB port, a Digimatic option or a wireless interface.
“This evolutionary, adaptable instrument will revolutionize connectivity thanks to its [TESA Wireless Interface] concept,” Martin Hedman, TESA group managing director and CEO, said in a statement.
“Brown & Sharpe hand tools have a solid reputation for quality, dependability and workmanship,” added Hedman. “We have produced hand measuring tools for more than 150 years. The new TWIN-CAL IP67 caliper is just another example of our market leadership in innovation."
The caliper has an inch/metric option with a measuring range of 150mm/6in., 200mm/8in., and 300mm/12 in. According to the company, the TWIN-CAL calipers have the largest LCD screen to date and has a battery life of up to 12,000 hours.
