Hinckley Allen expands with addition of Scott & Bush

PROVIDENCE – Hinckley Allen is adding to its intellectual property and litigation practices with the addition of Scott & Bush Ltd., a boutique intellectual property and business litigation firm.

Founding partners Craig Scott and Christine Bush along with their associates, Byron McMasters and Anastasia Dubrovsky, joined Hinckley Allen on Nov. 1.

“By combining the capabilities and expertise of the lawyers in both firms, Hinckley Allen has further strengthened its ability to serve clients facing complex [intellectual property] and litigation matters at the local, national and international level,” David Rubin, managing partner at Hinckley Allen, said in a statement.

Scott, a veteran trial attorney, brings years of experience helping companies navigate complex business litigation, including patent, trademark, trade secrets and copyright cases, according to information from Hinckley Allen. Scott serves as lead trial counsel in federal courts throughout the country and internationally for clients engaged in a broad range of industries, including technology and financial services to real estate and manufacturing.

“Intellectual property is a fast-changing area of law that cuts across all industries and sectors,” Scott said in prepared remarks. “The nature of [intellectual property] work requires a mix of specialized expertise and broad industry experience, which our combined team has in spades.”

Scott has been recognized by Best Lawyers as patent litigation lawyer and trademark lawyer of the year.

Bush has many years of experience litigating and trying complex business litigation matters involving patent, trademark and copyright infringement, unfair competition, covenants not to compete, shareholder issues in closely held companies, and construction disputes.

Bush was recently named by Best Lawyers as copyright lawyer and intellectual property litigation lawyer of the year.

“We were drawn to Hinckley Allen for its multidisciplinary approach to client service,” Bush said. “Our clients range from start-ups to publicly-traded companies, and will now have access to the broad-based advice of a multiservice firm.”

Hinckley Allen has offices in Albany, Boston, Concord, Hartford, New York and Providence.
