Hodges Badge acquires Pennsylvania company

PORTSMOUTH – Hodges Badge Company Inc. has acquired a Pennsylvania ribbon and awards company.

Hodges announced the acquisition of Garden Spot Ribbon and Awards of Ephrata, Pa., in a press release. Terms were not disclosed.

Jennifer Hodges, customer service director, said in the release that Garden Spot’s customer information is already being incorporated into Hodges’ systems and that all of Garden Spot’s customers “can expect a seamless transition to Hodges Badge Co.” Both companies place a similar emphasis on horse shows, the release said.
Rick Hodges, Hodges Badge Co. president, said that this marks the private, family-owned company’s second acquisition in recent months, following the purchase Southeast Ribbon and Badge in Roxboro, N.C., in September.
Hodges, which bills itself as the nation’s largest award ribbon manufacturer, is expanding its manufacturing facilities to handle additional growth. Construction of manufacturing facilities in Washington, Mo., is under way, with completion of the 80,000-square-foot building slated for July.
The company employs 100 at its Portsmouth manufacturing facility and headquarters as well as 60 in Missouri.
A Hodges representative could not be immediately reached for comment regarding the latest acquisition.
