Hospital wound-care center receives awards

SOUTH KINGSTOWN – South County Hospital’s Wound Care Center received two awards for excellence, the hospital announced on March 5.

The center received the Robert Warriner III MD Center of Excellence 2012 Award for its high scores in patient satisfaction, healing rates, and days to heal, according to key performance indicators. In the United States, only 42 out of 600 wound-care centers received this award.

The center also received the Center of Distinction Award from Healogics, Inc., the world’s leading wound-care management company. The recognition is given to facilities that have outstanding patient outcomes for 12 consecutive months. This is the third consecutive year the Wound Care Center at South County Hospital has been recognized as a Center of Distinction. •
