PROVIDENCE – The House Minority Caucus wants documents related to the 38 Studios LLC criminal investigation released.

The House Minority Caucus, in a letter Wednesday to state Rep. Patricia A. Serpa, chairwoman of the House Committee on Oversight, asked that she reconvene the committee so that steps can be taken to subpoena and release to the public the documents.

“Rhode Islanders have a right to know all the facts surrounding the 38 Studios debacle,” the letter stated.
The letter states that Attorney General Peter F. Kilmartin’s refusal to release the documents is “an affront to the hard-working Rhode Island taxpayers who are footing the bill for this misadventure.”

The letter follows an announcement late last month by Kilmartin and Rhode Island State Police Superintendent Col. Steve O’Donnell that there would be no criminal charges following the investigation.
