WARWICK – In late November, Warwick-based House of Hope Community Development Corp. named Laura Jaworski executive director, Deborah Imondi president of the organization’s board of directors and William E. Stein will serve in the newly-created post of clinical director of operations.

Jaworski will be the second person to head the organization since its establishment in 1989; she joined House of Hope in January 2015 as the associate director of programs and policies, overseeing programs for the homeless as well as victims and perpetrators of domestic abuse.

She said it was an honor to head such a “dynamic organization” and added, “House of Hope has a long record of working with individuals and families impacted by homelessness through the development of quality affordable housing, and the delivery of quality, compassionate supportive services.”

The nonprofit has a 23-person staff and provides counseling and other social services to more than 700 homeless people throughout greater Providence. Through their work they have restored 14 buildings in Warwick, providing 40 homes to 80 adults and children. Most recently, the organization launched the development of “Fair House” at 69 Fair St. in Pawtuxet Village in Warwick. This project will produce 10 more apartments and will open in early 2017.

In addition, the organization holds job programs and peer-mentoring training, which prepare homeless people for paid social service jobs.
