I-195 Commission set to offer candidate executive directorship

Posted:

PROVIDENCE – The Interstate 195 Redevelopment District Commission has chosen Jan Brodie, a former vice president of the Armory Revival Co. now working for a Boston nonprofit developer, to be its first executive director, Commission Chairman Colin Kane confirmed Thursday.

The commission voted unanimously to offer Brodie the job Monday night and is now waiting to see whether she accepts, Kane said.

Brodie is currently Northeast regional director of The Community Builders Inc. in Boston.

“The commission went through a six-month process, looked at over 200 candidates, and there was a unanimous consensus that [Brodie] was the top choice,” Kane said. “We are very excited that she is considering it and hoping she accepts.”

While there was no deadline attached to the offer, Kane said he expects an answer no later than next week.

Brodie spent five years with Armory Revival, which specializes in historic rehabilitation projects on Providence’s West Side, and joined The Community Builders in 2008. She lives in Mattapoisett, Mass., Kane said.

Brodie’s selection was first reported by WPRI.com.

Kane declined to discuss salary details of the offer.
