IGT wins award at London gaming conference

PROVIDENCE – International Game Technology PLC won the “best user experience in mobile” award at the ninth annual International Gaming Awards conference in London last week.

The awards, judged by international gaming industry experts, recognize excellence and innovation for technology, products and services that enhance the gaming experience, according to IGT. The award was given Feb. 1, the day before the ICE Totally Gaming conference, Feb. 2 to 4, that IGT also attended in London.

“It’s an honor to be recognized by the International Gaming Awards for providing the gaming industry’s ‘best user experience in mobile.’ This award acknowledges IGT’s firm commitment to our customers across all regulated segments of gaming. We’re focused on developing the industry’s best-performing and broadest selection of games, systems and solutions that can help meet customer needs in any market of any size,” Matteo Monteverdi, IGT senior vice president, global product marketing, interactive, said in a statement.

IGT was recognized for its OnPremise technology, which uses simple apps to integrate mobile, online and retail gaming.

The company said it also featured 200 products, including new games, at ICE.

IGT said new interactive game themes for mobile and desktop included Isle O’ Plenty, a MegaJackpots game that gives players a chance to win large jackpots through pooled liquidity, as well as Wheel of Fortune on Tour and Cleopatra Plus. Mobile and desktop versions of the Family Guy slot also were featured. IGT also debuted a new modern bingo user interface and a new poker platform, and new additions to its eInstant games portfolio, the company said.

Monteverdi said the conference provided the “ideal opportunity” for IGT to unveil the next generation of interactive gaming experiences.
