IGT’s GTECH signs contracts with Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Commission, Wisconsin lottery

PROVIDENCE – International Game Technology PLC’s subsidiary, GTECH Corp., has signed contracts with the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Commission and Wisconsin Lottery.

GTECH has received a five-year extension agreement with the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Commission to continue to provide its Intelligen central monitoring and control system for the video lottery terminal program at its five licensed VLT venues: Hollywood Casino Perryville, The Casino at Ocean Downs, Maryland Live! Casino, Rocky Gap Resort and Casino, and Horseshoe Casino Baltimore.
Through the extension agreement, the company also will provide technology and services to connect the VLTs at the state’s sixth licensed VLT venue, MGM National Harbor, expected to open next year.

“We have built a strong partnership with the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Commission since this contract began in 2010, and we couldn’t be more pleased to extend the relationship,” Michael Chambrello, CEO, North America Lottery, for IGT, said in a statement. “We have also gained a deep understanding of the VLT landscape in Maryland over the past five years, and welcome this new opportunity to assist the Commission in expanding its VLT program and supporting its next phase of growth.”
In other news, GTECH will be awarded a seven-year contract by the Wisconsin Lottery to provide bundled lottery solutions and services, including a new draw-based and instant-ticket lottery system, full-service lottery terminals, self-service and multimedia products, instant-ticket printing, warehousing, distribution, and telemarketing, as well as a communications network.
IGT said this follows a competitive procurement where it received the best overall score.
