Ida Ballou Littlefield Memorial Trust funds diabetes education video

WAKEFIELD – Thanks to a $7,500 grant from the Ida Ballou Littlefield Memorial Trust, South County Health’s Diabetes Center has the funding to create an educational video for those diagnosed with diabetes.

The “diabetes survival skills” video will offer the most up-to-date instructions and guidelines for managing diabetes. It will feature a South County Health Diabetes Center certified diabetes educator and two registered dietitian nutritionists, and will be used for inpatients and outpatients and in other community settings.

South County Health’s Diabetes Center takes a holistic and multidisciplinary approach to patient education and support for management of diabetes. Its national board-certified diabetes education team includes nurses, dieticians, exercise physiologists and a reiki practitioner. Patients are referred to the center from all over Rhode Island, and the center’s team members are often in the community educating individuals and speaking about diabetes prevention, awareness and management.
