PAWTUCKET – The initial phase of the residential conversion of the former St. Mary’s School and rectory to condominiums has been completed, and the first units are now available for sale.
The project, called Clock Tower Residences, includes 10 condominiums fashioned from the former rectory, which dates to 1892, and originally included a chapel and a kitchen, as well as residential rooms for nuns.
The condominiums, designed by LLB Architects, range in list price from $149,999 to $399,999. They feature high-end finishes, exposed brick and stone walls and other elements of the original structure.
The location is near the Oak Hill neighborhood in Pawtucket, as well as the East Side of Providence, and just a few hundred feet from the access to Interstate 95.
The quick access to the highway, and Boston, is among the selling points, according to Jonathan Annear, a sales associate with Lila Delman Real Estate International, who is overseeing sales.
“We’re trying to create an offering for those who have found the prices of Boston are astronomical,” Annear said.
The adjacent school building will be the next phase of development, and eventually will include 24 condominium units. Construction is expected to begin in the spring of 2017.
The third phase will be new construction, a high-rise building of 66 units that will be constructed over the existing playground. A clock tower will be installed as well, according to Annear, uniting the residential campus.
