Internet talk slated

The Internet is quickly transforming American cities and homes alike, with numerous benefits for the people who reside in them. With so much fanfare, it can be hard to pinpoint the clearest value propositions and uncover the best opportunities, but unvarnished stories from the front lines can help.
Slater Technology Fund will host a free talk, “The Internet of Things Comes to a City Near You (and Other New Directions in Wireless),” featuring Internet and wireless communications expert Bob Heile in an informal presentation and discussion about the technologies that shape the fabric of our modern lives today, and offer game-changing potential in the future. Heile brings a unique perspective on how technologies move from magical innovation, to commercial beachheads, and ultimately to broad consumer acceptance.

The event will take place Wednesday, Dec. 9, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Point Street Pianos, 3 Davol Square, Providence.
