Is Brown’s plan for growing its engineering school on College Hill a good idea?

Posted 4/14/13

Brown last week unveiled its plan to grow its engineering school, including building new facilities adjacent to its existing buildings and laboratories.

The school said that the new additions, although not yet designed, will fit within current zoning for the College Hill neighborhood and will end up adding to the green space there when all the work is done. And as part of the zoning regulations, the buildings themselves, however many there are, will be in the three to four story range.

Given this level of detail, do you think that this is a good idea for Brown, for the neighborhood?
