Historic James E. & Alice B. Sullivan House sells for $1.6M

PROVIDENCE – The historic James E. & Alice B. Sullivan House in Wayland Square on the East Side has sold for $1.6 million.
The property is the 12th sale exceeding $1 million on the East Side this year, according to a release from Residential Properties Ltd. The real estate company represented both buyer and seller in the transaction at 254 Wayland Ave.
The house was built in 1893 and designed by the architect William R. Walker & Son. The Victorian home was designed for Alice B. Sullivan, daughter of the U.S. Rubber Co. president, Joseph Banigan.
It is now a multifamily structure with eight units.
