Johnson & Wales University in the spring began construction of a $40 million academic building on what used to be Interstate 195 land. The 71,000-square-foot building will include classrooms, offices, assembly spaces and labs for programs, including robotics, drawing, game and network simulation, network engineering and sustainable architecture. The architect is Edward Rouse Architects of Providence and Architectural Resources Cambridge of Massachusetts. The construction manager is Dimeo Construction Company. Landscape architect is Birchwood Design Group of Providence.
