Journal fund awards $7,500 to Gamm

PAWTUCKET – The Providence Journal Charitable Fund at the Rhode Island Foundation has awarded a $7,500 grant to the Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre for production of “Macbeth.”
The professional nonprofit theater company’s production is on stage until April 19.
Tony Estrella, artistic director for The Gamm Theatre, said, “We are grateful to the Providence Journal Charitable Fund for this support. Underwriting our production allows us to employ some of the finest professional artists in New England, while keeping our ticket prices accessible.”
Howard Sutton, president, publisher and CEO of The Providence Journal Co. and trustee of The Providence Journal Charitable Fund, a designated fund at the Rhode Island Foundation that supports local nonprofits, said the theater’s work is “powerful” and worthy of support.
The production is part of “Shakespeare for a New Generation,” a national program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest. “Macbeth” plays Wednesdays through Sundays. Tickets are available by calling 401-723-4266 or visiting www.gammtheatre.org.
