BOSTON – KLR, an accounting and business advisory firm, has merged with Freshman & Ferraro PC

The merger, which took effect Jan. 1, is part of KLR’s strategic plan to strengthen its international tax practice in Boston.

Both firms are based in Boston, but KLR also has offices in Providence and Newport, as well as Waltham and Cambridge, in Massachusetts, and China.
According to information from KLR, Freshman & Ferraro is known for its expertise in international taxation; particularly, foreign businesses and individuals entering the United States market.
“Joining forces with KLR makes a lot of sense for our firm because it gives us the opportunity to expand the services we provide to our clients,” Kenneth Freshman, director of Freshman & Ferraro, said in a statement. “Add to this KLR’s strength, depth and resources and we knew it was the right move.”
Ken Freshman and JoAnn Ferraro will join KLR as principals and five additional staff members will join the firm as part of the merger. The KLR office will remain on Commonwealth Avenue in Boston.

“We are fortunate to have Ken Freshman and JoAnn Ferraro join our team,” KLR managing director Alan Litwin said in a statement. “Bringing their specialized skills to KLR allows us the opportunity to expand our services and offer hard-to-find expertise.”
