KVH to sell TracPhone in South America

MIDDLETOWN – KVH Industries Inc. – the world’s leading maritime VSAT provider – will offer its mini-VSAT broadband service and TracPhone satellite-communications terminals to maritime customers throughout South America through a partnership with Tesacom.
The new KVH/Tesacom partnership will be managed by Andesay S.A., a leading communications provider in the Andean region.
Tesacom will offer KVH’s service solutions from its offices in Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay, Panama and Peru.
The mini-VSAT broadband service will be available to offshore commercial fishermen, oil and gas operators and inland waterway vessels working on the Parana River.
A VSAT – very-small-aperture-terminal – is a two-way satellite ground station or stabilized maritime antenna with a dish antenna that is smaller than 3 meters.
“KVH’s mini-VSAT broadband service will allow us to offer an attractive and affordable broadband service to meet the growing connectivity needs of our diverse maritime customer base,” Jose Antonio Sanchez Elia, CEO of Tesacom said in a statement.
In addition to the VSAT service, Tesacom will offer KVH’s TracPhone V-series onboard terminals to its customers. &#8226
