KVH’s Videotel expands programs, offers new, updated titles

MIDDLETOWN – Videotel, a provider of e-Learning maritime training solutions and a company of KVH Industries Inc., now has nearly 60 new and updated titles.

Programs are offered through Videotel’s on-demand service, and include 37 new e-Learning courses and 22 courses that have been updated. In addition, the new print edition of Videotel’s 2015-2017 training catalog has been released, detailing the complete Videotel selection of 950 new and updated titles.

KVH, in a press release, said Videotel’s training solutions are in use on more than 12,000 vessels worldwide. It said the Videotel system allows mariners to learn onboard, onshore and online, and helps address the challenge of providing training for mariners who spend extended periods of time at sea.
“We are very proud of our reputation in the shipping industry for producing high-quality training materials,” Nigel Cleave, CEO of Videotel, said in a statement.
Cleave said the programs have a “realistic feel” as material is filmed on ships, and 3-D animation also is used.
