PROVIDENCE – Kathleen S. Devlin, owner of All About Home Care in Middletown, has been named the Rhode Island Small Business Person of the Year for 2011.

Devlin is one of nine business owners and advocates the U.S. Small Business Administration will honor in June, the organization announced Wednesday.

All About Home is a home health care agency that provides caregivers to in-home patients for a wide range of services, ranging from companionship to skilled nursing. She is under consideration for national and regional SBA awards, whose honorees will be announced during small business week in Washington D.C. next month.

“I congratulate each of the 2011 Rhode Island Salute to Small Business award winners,” said Mark S. Hayward, director of the SBA’s Providence office. “This recognition is a tribute to the hard work and commitment to success that these entrepreneurs have demonstrated. I also extend my appreciation to each of the champions for their continued commitment to the small business community.”

Devlin and the other local nominees will be honored at a June 1 luncheon at Alpine Country Club in Cranston, an event highlighting the week-long 2011 Rhode Island Salute to Small Business celebration.

Other 2011 honorees and their awards are:

  • Samuel S. Sinel, vice president Berger Recycling, Pawtucket, the Jeffrey Butland Family-Owned Business of the Year award for Rhode Island and New England.
  • Jay Gotra, CEO, VMS Alarms, Warwick, Young Entrepreneur of the Year for Rhode Island and New England.
  • James R. Lavoie, CEO, Rite-Solutions, Middletown, Veteran Small Business Champion for Rhode Island and New England.
  • Juana L. Horton, president and CEO of Horton Interpreting Services Inc., Providence, Women in Business Champion of the Year for Rhode Island and New England.
  • Sandra Y. MacNamara, president of Context Translations and Consulting, Scituate, Minority Small Business Champion of the Year for Rhode Island and New England.
  • Irving Schneider, retiring president of the Providence Campus of Johnson & Wales University, SBA District Director Award.
  • Joseph Baginski, president, Professional Ambulance, Providence, Joseph G.E. Knight Award for Entrepreneurial Excellence.
  • Doris Blanchard, DB Consulting, Bristol, Financial Services Champion of the Year.
